Valley of Fire Thru My Lens

Enjoy My Photography…

Valley of Fire State Park is located 55 miles to the north-east of Las Vegas. Its Nevada’s oldest and largest state park.

The park gets its name from the red sandstone that forms its most popular sights. This is popular place for families and photographers looking for day’s outing. Being just an hours drive from Vegas, it's an excellent place to visit when you're tired of the Vegas casinos, people and noise.

  • Hours: Open daily
  • Reservations: Not required
  • Cost: Entry fee of $6.00
  • Location: About an hour's drive northeast of Las Vegas
  • Getting There: Take I-15 north to exit 75 (Valley of Fire Road), then go west to Valley of Fire State Park. You can also reach Valley of Fire from scenic Highway 169 (North Shore Road)
  • How Long: Allow half a day or more
  • Best Time to Visit: Spring or fall, very hot in summer, can be rainy and cold December-January

If you are not too fond of hiking, this park will suit you. There are a lot of excellent views from your car or just a short walk from the parking area. And if you want to hike, there are quite a few trails that are quite satisfying.

The pictures here in the Gallery is when I visited the park in December. It was a really nice experience. Specially the drive to the park, with the fresh snow on either side of the road.
